With such a natural and unspoiled environment it is no wonder that diabetics are so well catered for in Lapland , where the cuisine is like the region itself - pure, simple, varied, natural and wild. Our cooking tours aim to use a range not only of local ingredients but also of several local recipes, and these as well as international menus will all be created under the watchful eye and supervision of our own chef to show you how to create the most delicious meals.
A complete range of healthy recipes, for all types of meals (breakfast, light snacks as well as main meals), will be provided for you to try your hand at cooking, or you could bring along your own favourite recipe to share with others. There may also be opportunities to collect some ingredients you need from the local environment like mushrooms, wild berries (including the cloudberry), vegetables and herbs. Cooking facilities at the Flying Reindeer Lodge, where you will stay, are second to none for these type of cooking courses as there is a new, large and fully equipped 'commercial' kitchen for everyone to work in (as well as a separate residents kitchen).
You will be able to enjoy your own and other course participants natural creations for dinner or lunch, and so enjoy something completely different for the entire duration of your stay.
